Dalmatians

This strong, muscular breed was bred to have large amounts of stamina and energy, and loves to play and run outside. Fun, easy going, and loyal, the Dalmatian loves to play and frolic with children, but will not do well if left alone outside. The first few years will give you a highly energetic and playful puppy that requires a firm owner. Highly intelligent, they train well and will soon give you a calm, obedient watchdog and companion.

A Dalmatian has a short, dense coat with fine hairs that does shed. Twice a year, the coat sheds profusely and must be brushed. Dalmatians are clean animals by nature and rarely give off a "dog smell".
